Having a generous contribution in this growth is the state of Gujarat. In other words, we can also say that Gujarat is the growth engine of India. In a very short period, Gujarat has become the first choice of global investors not just because of fastest growing economy but also strategic location, business friendly policies, robust physical, social and industrial infrastructure, quality manpower, high quality of life and low cost of living and many more.

Though there is recession in all over the world, in Gujarat there is an economic revolution. This revolution is seen in every field like bio-technology, industries, chemicals and petrochemicals, information technology, oil and gas, food and agriculture business, tourism, healthcare etc. Gujarat is the first state where chemical terminal is available. We have world’s biggest ship recycling yard. We have received ‘Best e-Governance State Award’ for giving long distance services at IT field. To attract more and more tourists Gujarat Government celebrates so many festivals like Navratri festival, Kite festival, desert festival etc.

In business, Surat is called ‘Silk City’ for textile industry. Surat is also known for its diamond market. At international level ninety percent of diamonds are polished in Gujarat. I had read it in an article published in a leading English newspaper. It truly spreads lot of rays of optimism, doesn’t it? Here I would like to focus on some fear factors that generally people do possess. At large people know their drawbacks but they are not much sentient of those drawbacks and this is what they are missing perhaps and this is why very often they are at loss.

So let’s begin to find out certain drawbacks and not only that, but now ‘today’ is the right time to shape up our abilities by culturing our strong points, turning our weaknesses into strengths and to make our path ahead a smoother one. To begin with, the first required action is-‘awareness’, because I think this is the solution of major, almost all the difficulties we are facing in life. Just one question to ask oneself is-‘Am I aware enough about my strong points and weak points as well?’ What’s your answer? Keep it in your mind or write it down on a piece of paper. How much a piece of paper can help you that you will realize sooner!

After ‘awareness’, the next word to be focused on is-‘today’. Let me share a brief story here on this word. A youngman used to keep a stone on his table and there was only one word written on that stone. That word was-‘today’. He used to keep this stone on his table just to remind himself everyday not to postpone today’s work on tomorrow and one day he became the president of his nation. He was Abraham Lincoln. Think over it, how much a rubbish stone can help anybody! ‘It sounds so foolish’-if this is your reaction then you need not read further.

In this article, especially for students, by the term ‘campus’ I mean campus activities and campus interviews as well. Don’t you think that campus activities would shape and sharpen your talents to grab the golden opportunities in campus interviews? Majority of us would surely agree upon this. Now let’s go further in discussion of the same. Keeping two things in mind we can initiate the whole discussion and these two things are as following:
(1) ‘Dreams and Goals’
(2) ‘Honors and Achievements’
As it is said that one should always dream higher, adding a view point of keeping one’s feet down to earth, one should have aspiration and inspiration of achieving something in one’s life. It’s a process of moving from being to becoming throughout your existence. Millions of people get themselves resting upon some point of being only. The real journey begins when you start thinking about to take a move from being to becoming in life. For this journey obviously one’s dreams and goals would play an important role in choosing direction, enlightening path and of course getting closer to the winning point, passing by certain turning points of life. The starting point of the way towards achievement is to have some concrete action plan and it begins with self analysis on the basis of questions like who you are and what you are. Majority of the people around you would be less interested in the first question compared to the second one. ‘What you are’- that would be more considerable factor for them. On the basis of that they would like more to finger out your weak points, then why not to begin with our own weak points by ourselves. Try to focus on certain drawbacks of your personality and put forward your best efforts to turn out your weaknesses into strengths through the process of improvement because the word ‘improve’ itself contains I-M-PROVE. So you are to prove yourself. It will take some time and probably certain factors may emerge to you as something like ‘impossible’. But again here we can apply the same theory of looking at the terms positively and by breaking this term into three pieces; you will get I-M-POSSIBLE. It surely depends upon you; how you look at the things.

Now let’s move on the next phase of the topic. Whether it’s a campus activity or a campus interview, one should follow the direction as following:
- preparation and planning
- participation and achievements
- performance and domino effect
…and ultimately future plan
In this play, one should go for following things one after another specially for campus interviews:
- self analysis
- career analysis
- job analysis
- future scopes
Now taking a turn from campus activities to campus interviews, let’s see how the previously discussed points would help you. In this case your inter personal skill as well emotional intelligence may help you a lot by following certain ways as given below:
- Be open, don’t try to deceive.
- Show empathy.
- Don’t put on an air of superiority.
- Listen with an open mind.
- Perform with the best efficacy.
- Try to understand, monitor and control our emotions as well as those of others.
- A little care will surely lead to true success in work and maintaining relations as well.
- Don’t assume certain fear factors before you start doing your task.
- Update yourself everyday.
- Create your own opportunity, don’t miss it and enjoy success.
Campus activities may lead you to realization of traits of your personality along with a chance to come in face to face situation with your abilities, skills and talents. Unconsciously it will be shaping up your guts to come out. In the same way even the interviews are the chances to evaluate yourself and in that case also one should remain as a performer because SUCCESS is realization of the estimate you place upon yourself. But the last word here to sum up is that in every idea implementation is must. Unless you yourself utilize yourself, no one can help you and only bookish knowledge will lead you nowhere. Books are good friends but the real world is a better one and perhaps that’s why a British author William Steron says-“My knowledge of books has diminished my knowledge of the world.” So what are you waiting for? Make your action plan and start implementing it each day and keep one thing in your mind that the only place where success comes before work is dictionary.

******************************

-Nikhil Joshi
(Cabin No.-A-302, IT/CP Dept.-GCET)
Cell No. – 98246 03013
Email address – nikhileshjoshi@yahoo.co.in
nikhiljoshi@gcet.ac.in
Website –
www.geocities.com/nikhiljoshi_saregama
Blogs:
www.nikhiljoshi2007.blogspot.com
www.gcet-languageclub.blogspot.com

(Responses are always welcome)

#################################

Seminar Success

The Definitive Keys to Seminar Success

by rdokoye
Successful seminars are generally based upon the concept of giving you the power to believe you can. The speakers usually speak from insights and expertise gained from their own life experiences. Self-improvement seminars give the attendees the tools - and the motivation - to succeed. Thus, a well-organized and well-presented seminar that helps people up the ladder of success can't help but succeed because we are a success-oriented society - it 's an easy sell with an income potential limited only by your ability to express yourself.

You won't need an office to make it big with self-improvement seminars. The public doesn't visit you - you take your programs to them. Self-improvement seminars appeal to almost everybody - from blue-collar workers to top executives.

The average cost per person to attend a seminar is very close to $300 - so your basic audience will be from the upper-income brackets - but if you handle the promotional aspects properly, you'll pull them in from lesser income brackets as well.

Many seminar promoters employ sales teams to call upon top company executives and either gets them to partially pay the cost of several employees to attend as educational or business improvement investments - or to foot the bill for the sponsorship of a "group seminar" for all of that company 's middle management personnel. Many specialty speakers make in excess of $100,000 per year with regular motivational and/or self-improvement seminars in this fashion.

In the beginning though, you'll get your start by staging seminars for the general public in restaurant banquet rooms, hotel ballrooms, and convention centers. These will entail advertising costs, plus the charges for the rented space, and an "on-hand" inventory of the materials you want to sell to the people who attend your seminars.

Generally, you'll do best with an intensive radio advertising campaign during the week preceding your seminar date. In a metropolitan area of half a million population, you should probably spend a couple of thousand dollars on radio advertising, plus about half as much for flamboyant newspaper advertising. Some seminar promoters invest a quarter of their budget in newspapers, then another quarter in direct mail and/or telephone advertising, with half going into radio. Of course, the allocation of your advertising budget should be related to the previous proven pulling power of each media within that particular market. Not too much concern is given to television advertising, excepting for guest appearances of the community service talk shows.

Most promoters spend all of this effort and money to promote a series of free seminars. These free seminars usually draw huge crowds, during which special "front men" turn everybody on with super-motivational stories designed to whet the appetite of those in attendance for more. These free seminars generally last only 45-minutes to an hour, and are strictly motivational in purpose.

Each person in attendance is handed a brochure describing the up-coming "main event" as they leave these free seminars. An attempt is made to get a commitment - at least a deposit for the cost of the "real thing," which is usually set for the week following. Those who do not commit themselves to attending the big one are then contacted by professional telephone sales people and given the complete sales presentation between the time of the free seminar and the date of the real thing, which and experienced telephone sales people - you can count on closing about 30 to 35% of those who attend your free seminars.

If you don't have the confidence or inclination to participate - be the principal speaker - at your seminars, you can hire local sales training people, professional people from the medical specialties, local "experts" known through your area newspapers or broad cast media, and/or nationally known speakers willing to travel and operating through speakers' bureaus. You might want to contact Burt Dubin of Personal Achievement Institute - 225 Santa Monica Blvd., Suite 305 -Santa Monica, CA 90401... or Dottie Walters of the 'National Speakers' Bureau' - 400 W. Foothill Blvd. - Glendora, CA 91740.

Finally, I reiterate the fact that there are literally millions of people in all parts of the country willing and able to pay you for helping them to improve themselves. You can start with meetings in your living room, or your local restaurant. All it takes is action on your part to get set up and a push from yourself to start making it happen. Best of luck and now get going with it.

About the Author

Uchenna Ani-Okoye is an internet marketing advisor.

Sign Up to my mailing list NOW at: Internet Marketing Services and Receive my FREE E-Course Worth $67!

Article Source: Content for Reprint

Key to Success

Could Self Affirmation Be The Key To Success?

by art_stanley
Your subconscious mind dominates every aspect of your life. Who you are as a person and where you are in life in relation to where you want to be, is largely a reflection of the subconscious mental conditioning that 's occurred to this point.

It 's the subconscious mind that is the controlling force of your life. But learn how to guide it and the infinite world of possibility is within your grasp. That 's the value of self affirmation.

Self affirmation is a proven tool to influence the subconscious. It doesn't happen overnight, but it can and does happen for those who make affirmations and visualization a part of their way of living.

Affirmations are positive statements about you and your desired reality. "I feel happier and more energetic now that I've lost 10 pounds" - that 's a simple example of an affirmation. The beauty of it is that you're not limited in any way. You can add dozens of affirmations into your routine and eventually the subconscious will get hold of this desire and guide you to manifestation. It doesn't matter what the affirmation is. If you believe it heart and soul and repeat it enough times, the subconscious will act on it as though it were an order.

Self affirmation is any positive statement delivered by you - to you. You simply make a decisive statement about you already in possession of some desired condition, quality, circumstance, or thing. "I feel my self-confidence surging higher and higher with every step I take towards each prospect 's door" is a statement of a desired condition for anyone in sales. Repeated regularly and with conviction, this self affirmation will undoubtedly increase the confidence and improve the performance of anyone.

Here 's why self affirmation is such an effective tool...

We see the world through our conditioned eyes. Have you ever noticed someone who is perpetually happy? They've conditioned themselves to experience more joy in life. There are also those unfortunate souls who are miserable most of the time. Most of us though live in the grey zone between these two extremes. If you want to be happier more often, use affirmations to make it your reality.

In their book, Become A Magnet To Money, author 's Bob Proctor and Michelle Blood state that "Your subconscious conditioning or paradigm will determine your logic". Until we see a particular result as logical, realistic, or within our reach, we won't take the necessary steps to get there. That 's why you've got to stretch yourself and open up to a new set of possibilities in your life. "Breakthroughs are made by violating logic" say authors, Proctor and Blood.

Your potential about your life and your potential are based on conditioning and nothing more. Unfortunately, most of us grew up accepting limitations; limitations that are nothing more than illusions we've bought into. It 's as though we look at life with long mailing tubes attached to our eyes. We can see a glimpse of some of the possibilities out there, but we miss out on the bounty that 's all around us.

Self affirmation facilitates change. Try if for 30 days -- every day -- and you'll begin to notice its effects. You can change your life any way you choose and only you can change it. Affirmations are free and freeing. Use them and shape your future so you are actually living your dreams.

About the Author

Ready to tap into your unlimited mind power to create the life you want? Self Affirmation and Visualization can give you everything you can imagine - automatically. In fact, it 's likely that you actively strive for success.

So despite this confidence, why do you find yourself plagued with self-doubt sometimes? Or, occasionally, you just don't feel motivated to work on your goal. Worse yet, sometimes you do things that actually impede the achievement of your goal. Are these signs that you'll never achieve that goal or is something else going on?

One way to solve this puzzle is to ask yourself some key questions:

Are you taking on too big a goal?
Sometimes when there 's too much to do to attain a goal, we can't focus on what needs to be done and we become overwhelmed. Rather than focusing on the big goal, focus on the smaller steps that need to be accomplished one at a time in order to accomplish the big goal.

Are there signs that you are progressing toward your goal?
It can be discouraging to feel as though you're not getting closer to your goal. It 's easy to lose the initial enthusiasm and motivation once the work gets going. It 's especially easy to lose the initial excitement and anticipation if you don't see any results from your efforts. If the steps toward your goal don't provide rewards, build your own. Treat yourself to a special dinner, a night out, or whatever you want, after making a significant step toward your goal.

Are you having to make too many sacrifices to achieve your goal?
If you're a single parent holding down a full-time job, you may be sacrificing sleep or time with your children to get that Ph. D. Most goals demand some kind of investment of scarce resources (i.e. time, energy, money). For some, these resources are a small investment and for others they are major investments. Make sure your investment is worth your goal.

Now that you've started working on your goal, is this something you can accomplish?
Some self-doubts are realistic and some aren't. Make an assessment of the skills and resources needed to accomplish this goal. Next, assess your skills and resources. It may be helpful to ask a friend who can be objective and honest with you to help you with these assessments. If your skills and resources are less than what is needed and will never be enough to reach your goals, then your self-doubt is an inner sign of reality (like wanting to be the next "American Idol" despite being only an adequate singer). However, if your skills and resources match or will match the skills and resources needed to accomplish your goal, this exercise should help eliminate some of your self-doubt.

Is accomplishing your goal too far out in the future?
When goals take a long time to accomplish, we can find ourselves working on things that have nothing to do with our goals, and in effect, wasting our time and making the achievement of our goals take that much longer. In this case, it may be helpful to make the halfway point to your goal the new goal instead. For example, if your goal is to lose 40 pounds in 40 weeks, make a new goal of 20 pounds in 20 weeks. At the end of 20 weeks, when you've lost 20 pounds, create a new goal of 20 pounds in 20 weeks. Break up your goal whichever way works best for you and keeps you focused on the end result.

You may not always be able to handle external obstacles toward your goals, but you do have control over your internal obstacles!

About the Author

I have been helping people reach their personal and professional goals for the past 14 years. If you conducted a student survey, you would be surprised at how many arrived to your classes for the same reason. Surveys reveal much about the needs of your students.

Granted, there are a variety of reasons why students attend Yoga training sessions, but many people participate in our classes because they are seeking solutions to stress management.

It has been estimated that 75%, and possibly more, of doctor visits, are stress related. Stress is a major culprit in illness. Worse yet, stress will make a pre-existing illness worse. If you are seriously ill, one of the last things you need is an extra serving of stress, or anxiety, to go with it.

Most Yoga teacher training courses barely scratch the surface, when considering the needs of stressed-out students. More often, attention is paid to the technical aspects of Pranayama (yogic breathing), asana (yogic posturing), student safety, teacher ethics, teaching methodology, anatomy, physiology, philosophy, and much more.

So, how, in the world, could a Yoga instructor be prepared for the needs of the anxiety-riddled masses? It all comes down to the needs of our students and our continuing education efforts.

For example: If most of our students are young, flexible, strong, alpha-type personalities - our student 's needs - will be geared toward physical prowess. In truth, this is fine, because there is a legitimate need for it.

On the other hand, if most of our students are feeling the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual effects of excessive stress and anxiety, there is a need for us to learn much more about effective Yogic stress management solutions for the sake of our students.

Now that you teach Yoga to the public, you clearly realize the need for stress management solutions, on a massive scale. Most Yoga teachers tend to go through life with an inner calm that is sometimes taken for granted.

As a result of conditioning, the Yogic lifestyle is not a stressful one; therefore, you may need to understand much more about what causes anxiety, panic, and worry, within your students. If you are suffering from a panic attack, the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual conditioning of a Yoga teacher, seems like fiction.

Stress is a chemical message to the body from the brain, which is very basic. This "fight or flight" message is very primal, and saved our ancestors lives, throughout the history of humankind. When we perceive a threat, our brain signals the adrenal glands to send, adrenaline and noradrenaline, to our heart, which increases the blood flow to the muscles.

This, in turn, gives instant power to the muscles. At the same time, the breath rate is accelerated to bring more oxygen to vital areas. In terms of survival, the mind and body are programmed to perform an efficient chemical and mechanical reaction to save our lives.

Yet, many people have this same reaction, while commuting to work, on a daily basis. Once one arrives at work, he or she may be subjected to unrealistic deadlines and office politics. This is just one scenario of many possible stressful situations, which may occur in the lives of our students.

Once you have become a Yoga teacher, you have taken a vow to help students in need. The atmosphere in your classes, studio, or ashram, should be tranquil. There is no place for a teacher without compassion. Likewise, the teacher with a personal agenda, about getting his or her best workout during class time, will fall short in helping students who suffer from excessive stress.

The reason why Yoga works for panic, stress, and anxiety control, is not complicated. Most people feel as if they are a victim of outside circumstances, which become triggers for excess stress, such as traffic jams, financial difficulties, raising children, and a variety of daily life situations.

In turn, many people become tense, and irritable, because the body reacts physically to stress. Blood pressure may rise, breathing correctly is difficult, and muscles may tense up due to excessive stress and anxiety.

Yoga works to create solutions for excessive stress, panic, and anxiety, from within. One class, or session, is the exact opposite mind and body experience, when compared to an anxiety attack. Yoga practice makes a tremendous difference in the quality of our student 's lives because students feel empowerment.

You see - tension, anxiety, and worry, are a natural part of daily life, but Yoga allows us to decipher the real from the imaginary. This is in stark contrast to someone who is creating their own form of "Hell on earth." To be concerned over our children is logical, but creating negative images in our minds, without any sound reasoning, will cause us harm, and there is no real reason for it.

Students should understand that some forms of daily low level stress are unavoidable, and make them stronger because of the experience, but extreme stress can cause panic attacks, heart attacks, or premature death. The rewards of their practice can be felt during, and after, their first lesson. The first part of the solution is a matter of making them aware of it.

Copyright 2008 - Paul Jerard / Aura Publications

About the Author

Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500, is a co-owner and the director of Yoga teacher training at: Aura Wellness Center in, Attleboro, MA.
